Well, I feel I should apologize. I know I kept saying that I would get to updating on a regular basis again, but I don't think I'll be doing that. I sorta petered myself out on this comic, and while I love it to bits, I just can't do it on a regular basis. I will definitely continue to update it, just sporradically and not with any set schedule. Also, there will be more comics not centered around the Route 866 cast. I'm sorry, everyone, to those of you who watch the comic, I'm really, really sorry. I just don't want to have to keep hammering out comics every week with no real drive behind them; I can tell the quality is starting to wane already.

So, until further notice, the comic is now on an "I'll update whenever I happen to have a comic done" basis.

Bottom line: For now I'll still update, just not every Sunday. Some time in the future I will definitely get this thing back on track, but at the moment I'm just a little frazzled and worn out by the comic. In the meantime, just think of the strips as little surprises in your message boxes. You'll never know when it'll creep up on ya, now that we're not on any sort of schedule X3

Hey there, and welcome to Route 866! It's a webcomic (of sorts) by me and my friends about all our little misadventures in life. Almost everything you will read in these comics has actually happened to us, and those that have not are pretty obvious. Well, maybe. Anyway, just kick back, relax, and enjoy the show!

A few pre-emptive answers to your questions:

What is the comic about?
As was stated above, Route 866 is a comic about the trials and tribulations of the everyday lives of me and my friends. Almost every comic has actually happened; those that have not are either based on actual events or based on our conversations and jokes. They shall be marked as such for your convenience (though why you would want to know is beyond me!)

Is there more information about the characters?
All of us are (currently, as of April 2005) highschool students. Misti, Shannon, James and I are part of the graduating class of 2005, and Jae, Chuck, Theron, and Anna are part of the graduating class of 2006. We go to a ramshackle little school in northern California, and greatly enjoy video games, anime, and listening to J-rock (Japanese rock, for those who don't know). What is the policy on guest comics?
Because Route 866 is run by DarkVal ([link]), this DA account is used solely for the comic's purposes. All first-party comics are under deviations, and all guest comics are under Favorites. If you would like to submit a guest comic, you can send a note to Route866 requesting it. You should upload the comic into your own deviation gallery, and from there Route866 will favorite and voila, you've got a guest comic up!

What's up with the different styles between comics? And why are some comics colored and others not?
I orginally started this comic a couple years ago, but never got around to really fleshing it out much. A few comics are done in the style that I used then (which also explains why some people look different; for instance, Dee had a braid in the old style comics, now she has short fluffy hair and a completely different outfit). I also used to color the comics, but have since decided that if I want to update this thing with any sort of regularity, coloring would be way too time-consuming. Hopefully, I'll be able to get Shannon to color them for me >3

How often does Route 866 get updated?
First-party comics are uploaded once every week on Sunday both here and at Drunk Duck Webcomics. Guest comics, however, come at random. You can submit them at any time you like. So, if you're really that bored, you can check back every day to see if anything new has popped up!
